Dubuque Composite Squadron Presents Awards

 Wright Brothers Award. Successfully complete all Phase I requirements.  This is the first major milestone award in the CAP Cadet Program, awarded as the cadet enters the ranks of  non-commissioned officers.

Recipients of the Wright Brothers Award:
Cadet First Sergeant Samuel Koranda, Scotch Grove, Iowa
Cadet Staff Sergeant Nathaniel Hess, Fennimore, Wisconsin
Cadet Staff Sergeant Austin McCann, Asbury, Iowa
Cadet Staff Sergeant Isaac Schuetz, Hazel Green, Wisconsin
Cadet Staff Sergeant Nathan Schuetz, Hazel Green, Wisconsin
Cadet Staff Sergeant Noah Schuetz, Hazel Green, Wisconsin
Cadet Staff Sergeant Brian Valentine, Dyersville, Iowa

General Billy Mitchell Award. Successfully complete the specific requirements in Phases I and II of the CAP cadet program. This award is certified and awarded only by National Headquarters. This is the second major milestone award in the CAP Cadet Program, awarded as the cadet attains officer rank.

Recipient of the General Billy Mitchell Award:
Cadet Second Lieutenant Jacob Napp, Stitzer, Wisconsin

Commander’s Commendation Award. Outstanding duty performance where achievements and services are clearly and unmistakably exceptional when compared to similar achievements and service of members of like rank and responsibility. In instances where several members are affiliated with an exceptionally successful program, project or mission, the Commander’s Commendation Award will be awarded only to those who clearly stand out from the others and who contributed most to the success of the program.

Recipients of the Commander’s Commendation:
Lieutenant Colonel William Mausser, Epworth, Iowa
Second Lieutenant Jean Napp, Stitzer, Wisconsin
Cadet Second Lieutenant Jacob Napp, Stitzer, Wisconsin

Certificate of Appreciation Wing Level. Awarded by wing commanders to both members and nonmembers of CAP in recognition of significant contributions to CAP.

Recipient of the Certificate of Appreciation:
Master Sergeant Rob Burds, USAF, Peosta, Iowa

All of the above Awards will be presented by Colonel Ronald Scheitzach, Iowa Wing Commander, and Lieutnant Colonel Eric Schneider, Dubuque Composite Squadron Commander. 

The Civil Air Patrol is the Auxiliary of the United States Air Force. It’s congressionally mandated missions include Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and the Cadet Program. The Cadet Program is open to young men and women, between the ages of 12 and 18.

The Dubuque Composite Squadron meets at the US Army Reserve Center at the Dubuque Regional Airport on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30PM.
