Members of the EICS spent time with the USAF Thunderbirds - air demonstration squadron

WATERLOO, IA – Members of the East Iowa Cadet Squadron participate in the Waterloo Air Show providing flight marshaling to the event. It was also an aerospace education activity opportunity learning about different types of aircraft and the USAF Thunderbirds.

The Thunderbirds are the air demonstration squadron of the U.S. Air Force (USAF), based at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada, but they are also part of the USAF combat force and if required and can be rapidly integrated into an operational fighter unit.

ECIS members were able to see the Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Fighting Falcon powered by an updated version Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engine and pilots.
