Iowa Wing Supports Thunder in the Valley

WATERLOO, IA – The Civil Air Patrol was well represented at the 3-day “Thunder in the Valley” air show held August 26-28 at the Waterloo Municipal Airport.

Attending for the Iowa Wing and the Cedar Rapids Senior Squadron was Operations Officer Capt Doug Meyer.  Working along side with Captain Meyer was Captain Klees and cadets from the Burlington Composite Squadron as well as First Lieutenant Pitts and cadets from the East Iowa Cadet Squadron.

Capt Meyer along with the other members of the Iowa Wing displayed the Wing’s newest aircraft, N629CP,a Cessna 182T, to hundreds of poeple during the three day event.  In addition, a booth was set up displaying the capabilities of the Civil Air Patrol and the cadet section of the Iowa wing.

The members involved displayed themselves in a professional manner that brought recognition to the Civil Air Patrol and the those of us in the Iowa Wing.
