Chief of chaplains: Mark anniversary, Christmas’ approach with uniform at services

leave a comment »

Greetings:

We are at the threshold of the Christmas season, which embraces several traditions along with the expectation of a new year. We are also about to celebrate 70 years of service to America, as Civil Air Patrol embarks upon its eighth decade of patrolling the skies, lending help to those in distress, teaching America to appreciate the excellence of aerospace and nurturing the leadership skills of youth nationwide through our cadet program.

In observance of this momentous occasion, CAP members across America are encouraged to proudly wear their uniform the first Sunday in December, giving CAP the opportunity to witness to America the merits of our time-honored missions.

On that day, I also hope each of you will use this celebration of our 70th anniversary to invite your friends and fellow worshippers to join you in service to America as a member of Civil Air Patrol. And don’t forget to ask your neighborhood clergy to consider coming aboard America’s largest professional volunteer chaplaincy. We need their help, and they can make a difference in the moral and spiritual culture of our nation.

Be encouraged and be blessed.
